A children’s lamp for pediatric settings designed to provide warmth through sensory experiences. The aim is for playful interaction, in which users creatively manipulate light at will, to help relieve stress and provide a healing moment. The wooden blocks become the key role in this choreography. 6 configuring shaped blocks are numbered to fill 17 light rods, which act as individual dimmers for users to play with. In addition to this element, it can also be used separately for a simple toy block recreation.

Beyond its immediate functions, upcycling and repurposing of materials, considering each of its second lives, was strongly pursued throughout the making of this lamp. This lamp design also challenges the systemic relationality of daily objects. Unlike a standard dimmer, the manual handling of blocks disrupts the automatic choreography, encouraging a more intentional and new connection with our belongings.
